POS Codes
The "Place of Service" codes are shown below. The POS1 column is the current accepted codes. The columns POS2 and POS3 allow you link a different set of code to the Description. Some Medicaid carriers have their own codes (prior to HIPPA of course) that they used instead of the standard codes. Once HIPPA is fully implemented only the POS1 codes will be used.
The columns Code2 and Code3 give you the ability to create a separate code for you unusual circumstances. Many Medicaid plans do NOT use standard codes and in the Insurances Module you would assign to that insurance the POS type to be 2-Old or 3-Other.
